I was thrilled to be part of the StudioLab Days 2024 festival, held between 13 and 16 June at Südpol Luzern and the HSLU Music building. This event was a vibrant showcase of innovative projects and master’s theses, featuring thought-provoking installations, performances, debates, and much more.
During this four-day event, visitors had the opportunity to delve into contemporary art and engage with current social issues. Guided tours, workshops, films, and performances were just a few of the many activities that brought together artists and art enthusiasts.
As a student in the Master of Arts program, I had the privilege of contributing to this year’s event with my colleagues. Our collaborative “Trash or Treasure” project was based on sound and designed to be an interactive experience. Spread throughout the Südpol building, our artworks invited visitors to find them, rewarding their curiosity and engagement with refreshing ice cream at the end.
My contribution to the project was an artwork titled “Paris.” This piece depicted a friend, accompanied by a sound installation featuring a reading from “Sands of Wisdom” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The concept behind “Paris” revolved around the idea that “home” is where you feel at peace with the right people by your side. It emphasized the importance of building a peaceful kingdom through the love and trust cultivated within your circle.
Being part of StudioLab Days 2024 was an enriching experience, allowing me to explore new dimensions of art and connect with fellow artists and visitors. The festival showcased our hard work and creativity and fostered a deeper appreciation for the diverse ways art can reflect and influence society.
